Sanctuaries of Kościerzyna
Kościerzyna is the only town in Europe that has two Marian shrines consecrated by Pope John Paul IIin one parish.
These are: the Shrine of Our Lady of Kościerzyna –the Queen of Families, and the Shrine of Our Lady of Sorrows. In the first case, the object of worship isan image, in the second case, the fourteenth-century the Pietà, the sculpture of Mary holding the body of the dead Christ.
